My take away point from Henry's article is that it will be really tough to sell new MedTech into hospitals in the next 12-18 months.
However, this is a great time to develop a new med device, which will take at least 12-18 months, and by then the market may be in a more stable place.
More than half of U.S. health systems will be operating in the red in 2022.
The priority for any new MedTech in the next 12-18 months will be lower cost, either time savings or cost savings, and time to revenue.
The top three issues for health system executives and boards are staffing, staffing, and staffing.
“Nice-to-have” solutions go on the back burner. “Mission-critical” solutions get attention.
